WEAVEonline

WEAVEonline is a data management and communication tool that facilitates the management of the college’s accreditation, outcomes, and quality improvement processes. This web-supported system was purchased in the spring of 2006 and was implemented throughout the 2006-2007 academic year.

WEAVEonline has had an impact on the institution’s strategic planning as it provides a place for academic programs and administrative departments to enter their respective goals and accomplishments each fiscal year. Faculty, staff and administrators are now able to align their department and division goals to the institution’s broader strategic plan. This new transparency means that the college community is connected even more directly to the overall vision and mission of the campus. WEAVEonline also helps us to create a historical record of assessment data. In addition, the system provides a curriculum mapping feature that allows programs to map their course objectives to the college’s general education outcomes.

This system provides many benefits to Waubonsee allowing faculty and administrators access to up-to-the-minute information about outcomes planning and the status of faculty projects. Faculty members will be able to enter their own assessment data directly into the system which will help to close the feedback loop that exists at the college. Those reports can then be generated by the system to provide information for AQIP and other reporting requirements. This database will serve not only as a repository for documentation of The Outcomes Project (TOP) but will also facilitate communication about outcomes assessment throughout the college. Most importantly, the system will serve as a historical record of Waubonsee’s commitment to improving student learning.
